- Are you kidding?
-
- You could buy a new A2000 (if you can find one) for that money. A long
- while back Creative Computers was selling (dumping?) *new* 25MHz A3000s
- with 100MB hard drives and a few MB of RAM for $400.00!
-
- I would say things have changed quite a bit since the A2000. For example,
- my A4000 has a 40MHz 68040 (WarpEngine), 32-bit data paths throughout
- (except for the video card which is 64-bit), 32-bit Zorro-III slots, FAST
- SCSI-II, 22MB RAM, the custom chips run at 25MHz (instead of 7MHz for an
- A2000). With my A2386 Bridgeboard and the PC slots too (nothing different
- from the A2000), I can use/do just about anything.
-
- For software, with ShapeShifter I can emulate a Mac Quadra faster than a
- real Mac. I can run any PC program that will work with a 75MHz 486. I
- run NetBSD Unix and Amiga OS 3.1 mainly, but just about any piece of
- software I can find... I can use it - no problem.
-
- How many PC systems do you suppose can run Amiga OS, Mac System 7.5, and
- Windows 95 simultaneously - at native system speeds??? Mine does it
- quite easily.
